Alive is one of Pearl Jams most loved songs and it was released on their first album ‘Ten’ back in 1991. In the video I credited Matt Chamberlain for creating the drum part but meanwhile I have been told that it was actually Dave Krusen, who had joined the band in 1990 and left straight after recording their debut album ‘Ten’. For me (not being ‘alive’ until 1999) this drum track is quite typical for 90’s grunge. The drum part is a lot more tricky than 80s stadium rock kind of simplified grooves, the set sounds more acoustic, more dynamic and less ‘produced’. I like it!

Some people think that YouTube pays me a lot of money because my channel has many views and subscribers, but unfortunately, most of those views refer to my drum covers of copyrighted material.
The advert money generated by those views goes straight to the copyright holders, so my YouTube income is quite small. In fact, my Patrons and Supporters keep this channel going. They help me to make a living playing music.
